An incredibly positive aspect of running for Congress in this cycle has been the various candidate forums and debates. During my CPA career I had plenty of opportunities to talk in front of hundreds of people. Forums and debates differ from public speaking in that you must "think on your feet." Many district attorneys and prosecutors are violating this implicit responsibility to protect us. Their careless behavior is no different than that of the drunk driver that injures or kills the innocent or any other professional like a doctor or accountant that causes harm by failing to exercise due professional care. Under my "Public Safety Proposal," both those DAs/prosecutors - and their respective political subdivision would be jointly liable . . . for actual damages - plus a minimum civil penalty as a result of their negligence in dealing with repeat criminals - where these "revolving door criminal" later commits FELONIOUS acts injuring others.
